Pathways To Reading Success

Robin has a unique presentation on ADHD and dyslexia because she is able to combine the science of the brain with what to do as a parent or teacher.  Her knowledge blends science and research, parenting a child with learning differences, instructing teachers on how to work with students with dyslexia and ADHD, and tutoring with multi-sensory methods.  In addition, Robin’s legal background and work with schools provides an excellent resource for both parents and teachers as they navigate the best accommodations and teaching methods for these students.  Every time I hear her present I learn something new, I laugh, I am inspired, and I am better equipped to help raise awareness about dyslexia.  —R.W.

Robin was not only a wonderful and caring teacher for my son, she was a coach, a cheerleader, a resource comparable to none, and it wasn’t long before she became a member of our extended family.  She is the consummate professional who loves a challenge, and loves children.  There is no doubt in my mind that Robin is in large part responsible for the many successes my son has experienced these past three years!  —M.T.

How do I put into words how Robin has changed my family’s life? Divine intervention is the only way to describe it. She took the time to get to know my child and understand his needs. To encourage him and push him gently, knowing his self-esteem was fragile. She guided him back to believing in himself. Mrs. Hegner took a personal interest in our daughter’s success.  She instilled confidence in our daughter and helped her believe that she could achieve anything she set her mind to.  She helped her improve her language skills, and now our daughter is performing well at a very competitive college prep high school.  —J.C. and R.C.

I don’t know what I would do without Mrs. Hegner. Not only has she been a wonderful teacher for my son, but she has been a true support to me as a parent of a child with a learning disability. She is so good at helping me (and my son) to focus on his strengths and not get bogged down with the challenges. Mrs. Hegner is a remarkably dedicated teacher who is incredibly knowledgeable in all aspects of teaching students with dyslexia and ADHD. She takes the time to get to know each of her students and then tailors her lessons to each individual student’s interests and needs. As an LF and Transitioning to High School teacher at Riverside School, Robin gave my son the wisdom, strength, and knowledge to become a confident self-advocate that he needed to be to transfer to his first choice of high schools.
