Robin has a unique presentation on ADHD and dyslexia because she is able to combine the science of the brain with what to do as a parent or teacher.  Her knowledge blends science and research, parenting a child with learning differences, instructing teachers on how to work with students with dyslexia and ADHD, and tutoring with multi-sensory methods.  In addition, Robin’s legal background and work with schools provides an excellent resource for both parents and teachers as they navigate the best accommodations and teaching methods for these students.  Every time I hear her present I learn something new, I laugh, I am inspired, and I am better equipped to help raise awareness about dyslexia.  —R.W.

Robin was not only a wonderful and caring teacher for my son, she was a coach, a cheerleader, a resource comparable to none, and it wasn’t long before she became a member of our extended family.  She is the consummate professional who loves a challenge, and loves children.  There is no doubt in my mind that Robin is in large part responsible for the many successes my son has experienced these past three years!  —M.T.

How do I put into words how Robin has changed my family’s life? Divine intervention is the only way to describe it. She took the time to get to know my child and understand his needs. To encourage him and push him gently, knowing his self-esteem was fragile. She guided him back to believing in himself. But the greatest lesson was that she taught him how to enjoy learning again.  —L.W.

Mrs. Hegner took a personal interest in our daughter’s success.  She instilled confidence in our daughter and helped her believe that she could achieve anything she set her mind to.  She helped her improve her language skills, and now our daughter is performing well at a very competitive college prep high school.  —J.C. and R.C.

I don’t know what I would do without Mrs. Hegner. Not only has she been a wonderful teacher for my son, but she has been a true support to me as a parent of a child with a learning disability. She is so good at helping me (and my son) to focus on his strengths and not get bogged down with the challenges. As a teacher, she is great at teaching the academics, and she is truly gifted at helping to build a child’s confidence and boost their self-esteem.  —T.S.

My son’s year was made fun and exciting because of Robin. She gave him the knowledge and skills he needed to move to another school, but more importantly she gave him the confidence. I will always be grateful for the time he had with her. Robin is a true ‘Teacher.’  —S.R.

Mrs. Hegner is a remarkably dedicated teacher who is incredibly knowledgeable in all aspects of teaching students with dyslexia and ADHD. She takes the time to get to know each of her students and then tailors her lessons to each individual student’s interests and needs. Our son thrived during his year with her and we are forever grateful for her dedication and encouragement.  —C.G.

As an LF and Transitioning to High School teacher at Riverside School, Robin gave my son the wisdom, strength, and knowledge to become a confident self-advocate that he needed to be to transfer to his first choice of high schools. He proudly tells his friends and family that Mrs. Hegner was not only his best teacher ever, but also his friend! I thank Robin for everything she’s done in laying the foundation in my son’s education. She was his lightbulb moment and I truly applaud her!  —P.T.T.

Love this fabulous teacher! My kids thrived with Robin!  —E.F.

Mrs. Hegner has helped me in a lot of ways. I am a visual learner so I memorize stuff by drawing or singing so we do our vowel pair cards with a rhyming song and coloring pictures. She also helped me emotionally when I had difficult times during the school year. She is very fun and such a kind teacher. I wish she was my teacher for the rest of school.  —8th grade student

Robin Hegner Mrs. Hegner teaches you a lot and she’s fun. She knows a lot of cool things. She lets you take your time and if you are stuck, she will help you. She helped me improve my reading, and she helped me to have very neat handwriting. I’m very proud of how neat my handwriting is now.  —5th grade student

Mrs. Hegner is awesome. Without her, I would not be the success I am today.  —Junior in college

I couldn’t read before I met this lady.  —7th grade student
